Sapphire Gem

This page has two different age options. Winter Hatched Birds hatched between January 14th and the 21st. March Hatch  hatched mid to late March, further care should be taken when introducing the younger set to already established flocks .
 
Sapphire Gems vary in appearance from a light dusky blue to a dark almost black blue.  Most of our March Hatch have further gold on the feathers on their neck. They are very friendly and like the Red Stars, are always at my feet at chore time. They alongside the rest of the Sapphire Family are excellent layers of brown eggs.
